I am Brian Eagan.
Professionally
My resume is pretty long. Most of it contains jobs that I did involving programming and/or managing programmers. Specifically doing ‘back-end’ web development. That doesn’t mean HTML or mad dreamweaving skillz. No, that is things like perl, php (to my dismay), Java servlets/jsp, Cold Fusion in the distant past, and recently the obligatory Ruby on Rails. Almost everything I’ve done involved databases or odd flat file set ups that ended up resembling databases. Much of this in recent years was geared toward kids online communities. There are unique challenges to working in this niche, which adds to the fun of enabling kids to have fun on the intrawebs.
Recently I’ve been doing financial modeling, org charts, budgets and mediating personnel conflicts. My current employer, Star Farm Productions, is a unique and fun place to work.
Personally
I have two awesome little girls, Sophie (age 3.8) and Holly (age 2.0). Their mom’s name is Ann, she’s pretty awesome as well. I have a really nice dog that is an odd combo of a pit bull and black lab.
I am really into food and cooking food. I am known for doing very decent French bistro style food and some very passable bbq. I am into soups during the winter/fall.
I am actively disinterested in politics and human strife. Not really, but I try my best.
